Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today approved the upgrade of the Bond Kalan-Dadri-Chirya-Bhagot-Kanina-Ateli Road (MDR-124) from a Major District Road (MDR) to a State Highway (SH).
Giving more information in this regard, an official spokesperson said the road, which spans 90.31 km, connects several key national highways, including NH-709 extension, NH-152D, NH-148B, SH-20, SH-24 and NH-11, while passing through Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri and Mahendergarh districts.
Given the heavy traffic flow and the road’s strategic importance for the movement of commercial vehicles across these districts, the upgrade will greatly improve the region’s infrastructure and connectivity, he said. The road will now be designated State Highway 34.
In a related development, the CM also sanctioned a road-strengthening project in Karnal district. The project involves the enhancement of the road section from NH-709 Pucca Khera Mod to Munak via Paban Hassanpur (Seori to Paban Hassanpur) over a stretch of 15.15 km. This project, with an estimated cost of Rs 18.81 crore under the NABARD Scheme, aims to bolster the region’s infrastructure and support local development.
