Dr. Sunder Pal, a BEMS-qualified doctor, and a middleman were arrested in Faridabad for illegal sex determination of an unborn child. The arrest followed a decoy operation where a pregnant woman posed as a customer. The test cost Rs 30,000, with Rs 5,000 paid online. Dr. Pal, previously arrested for a similar offense in 2021, lacked valid qualifications. The police seized an ultrasound machine and related equipment. A case has been filed under the PNDT Act.

Cop injured in encounter dies

Gurugram: Inspector Sunil Kumar of the Meerut STF died on Wednesday at Medanta Medicity, after being critically injured in an encounter with criminals in Shamli. On Tuesday night, he was shot multiple times, while leading a team against a wanted criminal. Despite surgery, he succumbed to his injuries.
