A district-level science and technology exhibition focused on sustainable development was organised at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Karnal, on Friday.

Students from various schools of the district showcased their talent through science models, posters and short plays.

Samagra Shiksha District Project Coordinator Jyotsna Mishra interacted with students during the event.

She emphasised the role of science and technology in making life easier, and appreciated the participating students for creating innovative and practical models addressing real-life challenges.

“Students should test the models they created in real-life situations and refine them accordingly,” she said, exhorting students and teachers to adopt a scientific mindset.

Students participated enthusiastically in the exhibition, coordinated by District Science Expert Deepak Verma and Assistant Project Coordinator Pawan Kumar.

A panel of judges evaluated the models, plays and posters. In the food, health and hygiene play competition, Kush and his team from PM Shri GSSS, Assandh, won the first prize, while Jyoti of GSSS, Nissing, bagged the second.

In the transport and communication category, Sarthak of PM Shri GSSS, Assandh, won the first prize, while Sachin of GSSS, Mangalpur, bagged the second prize.

In the natural farming category, Yashika of GHS, Sultanpur, secured the first position, while Khushi of PM Shri GSSS, Kunjpura, stood second.

In the disaster management category, Alsamad of PM Shri GSSS, Karnal, won the first prize, while Sameeksha and her team from GSSS, Goli, secured the second position.

In the mathematical modelling and computational thinking competition, PM Shri GSSS, Nilokheri, won the first prize, while the GSSS, Chirao, team stood second.

In the waste management category, GHS, Sheikhpura Khalsa, won the first prize, while GMS, Bir Badalwa, bagged the second position.
