Budget allocations to transform Hisar into industrial, educational hub: Gangwa
Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Department Minister Ranbir Gangwa has expressed optimism about Hisar’s growth prospects following the recent state Budget. He highlighted a series of welfare and developmental initiatives aimed at boosting key sectors such as health, education, agriculture, animal husbandry, electricity, industry, sports and defence.
Gangwa said, “The Haryana Budget has brought a plethora of welfare and developmental schemes for Hisar district in various sectors such as health, education, agriculture, animal husbandry, electricity, industrial development, sports and defence.”
According to the minister, 2,988 acres in Hisar have been earmarked for industries related to aerospace, defence manufacturing, food processing, air cargo, warehousing and textiles. Hisar Airport will also see significant upgrades, including a dedicated five-acre warehouse for air cargo and four acres for aircraft parking, repair and maintenance.
Welcoming the proposal to establish an aviation college at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in Hisar, Gangwa said, “Soon, direct flights from Hisar to Ayodhya, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Jammu will begin.”
As the MLA from Barwala, he emphasised the expansion of the Khedar Power Plant, which is expected to improve the region’s electricity supply. “The government has sought approval from the Centre for an 800 MW ultra-supercritical expansion unit at the Khedar Power Plant,” he said.
In the defence sector, a training institute for Army aspirants will be set up in Hisar, while the agriculture and dairy sectors will receive major upgrades, including a seed testing centre, centres of excellence for date palm and guava cultivation and a semen sorting laboratory in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board.
The education sector is also set for expansion, with new model Sanskriti schools within a 10 km radius, an industrial training institute in Sisai village, and a Centre of Excellence in Sports. Additionally, a new coaching centre for state and national-level competitive exams will be launched in the 2025-26 academic session.
Healthcare facilities will also receive a significant boost. Gangwa said, “The long-pending demand for upgrading the district hospital will be fulfilled, with its capacity increased to 300 beds. A 50-bed critical care unit will also be established, along with a 100-bed ESI hospital for workers.”
The minister said, “These initiatives will contribute significantly to Hisar’s transformation into a hub of industrial, educational, healthcare, and transportation infrastructure.”
