Gurugram, July 17
A 27-year-old private firm executive from Ghaziabad reportedly died by suicide after alleged bullying by her colleagues. According to the FIR, the victim’s family claims she took the extreme step due to constant physical and mental harassment by her colleagues at the Noida firm. Though the woman killed herself on July 12, allegedly by consuming poison, her brother approached the local Nandgram police station in Ghaziabad on Wednesday after discovering a suicide note in her room.
An FIR has been lodged under Section 108 (abetment to suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “Being troubled by the actions of these people, my sister consumed a poisonous substance on July 12 at around 4.15 pm, after which we took her to MMG Hospital, Ghaziabad, from where she was referred to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where she died during treatment,” he added.
Alleging that his sister ended her life due to physical and mental harassment, he said, “These people are responsible for her suicide.”
“She had told the family that the employees working with her had been harassing her for the last five or six months,” the victim’s brother alleged in the FIR, accusing three colleagues, including a woman.
