Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij has announced a grant of Rs 1 crore for the construction and repair of two Government Senior Secondary School in Ambala Cantonment.
As per the information, the minister has announced a grant of Rs 50 lakh each for PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Rambagh Road, and Government Senior Secondary School, BC Bazaar.
Construction of new rooms, toilets, stairs and other repair works will be carried out from the grant to be provided to the Education Department by the minister from his discretionary fund.
He said due to large number of students in both schools, there was a shortage of classrooms and important repair works were also to be carried out. The construction of new classrooms will benefit the students. Both schools are located in populated areas and hundreds of children from nearby colonies are getting education in these schools.
About 750 students are at present getting education at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School on Rambagh Road but there is a shortage of rooms for the students. In the school, five new rooms will be constructed with the amount. New toilets will be built in the school. New stairs will be constructed, while other repair works will be done.
At Government Senior Secondary School, BC Bazaar, three old rooms will be dismantled and eight new rooms will be constructed. Similarly, new stairs will be built in the school, drains will be repaired and other repair works will be carried out.
