Rewari varsity alumnus gets award

Rewari: Yogesh Chaudhary, an alumnus of Indira Gandhi University (IGU) here has been honoured with the prestigious - My Bharat National Service Scheme Award 2022-23 - for his outstanding work in social service and nation-building, as well as his leadership. This award was conferred by President Droupadi Murmu during a special ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. On his achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof Aseem Miglani congratulated Yogesh. He said Yogesh had brought national recognition to the university. This was a proud moment for the IGU, Meerpur. His contribution would serve as an inspiration to all youth, he said.

Seminar dwells on breast cancer

Sonepat: A seminar on breast cancer awareness and preventive measures was held at Puran Murti campus here. Dr Vaishali Jamre, a breast cancer surgeon, who was the chief guest on the occasion, raised awareness among women staff and students of Puran Murti campus about breast cancer prevention. She said awareness of breast cancer was the key to prevention. There was need to raise awareness about it, especially among women, as they were the most affected, she said. "If we are determined, we can defeat breast cancer," she said. Earlier, Dr Vijaypal Nain, Chairman, Puran Murti Campus, Dr Sweety, Director of Academics, Dr Sunita, Director of Puran Murti College of Pharmacy, and Himani Dahiya, Principal of Puran Murti Global School, inaugurated the seminar by lighting a lamp along with the chief guest.

Workshop on PowerPoint presentation

Yamunanagar: The Computer Department, Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri, organised a one-day workshop on PowerPoint presentation. Students were taught tricks of creating PPTs. The workshop was inaugurated by officiating college Principal Dr Karuna. Addressing students on the occasion, Computer Department head Prof Randeep said, "PowerPoint allows to add information or data to multiple slides in formats such as text, images or video. All of these slides can be displayed as a single presentation. In PowerPoint, animations, photos, graphics, videos and backgrounds can be added to make presentation more effective and grapping." Prof Shalu and Prof Saima contributed in organising the workshop.

Programme on food security

Mahendragarh: Department of Nutrition Biology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), launched a 10-day Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) course on "Food security, nutrition, and innovations". The programme was inaugurated by university Vice-Chancellor Prof Tankeshwar Kumar in the presence of foreign expert Dr Antonio Raposo, Lusófona University, Lisbon, Portugal. Prof Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Dean, School of Interdisciplinary and Applied Sciences, said the GIAN programme aims to strengthen research and teaching quality by connecting Indian institutions with international experts. Dr Antonio said the programme would cover various aspects of the theme. He said all participants would gain insights into global developments through interactive discussions.
