Sonepat: A lecture on information technology and artificial intelligence tools for teaching learning was organised at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan. Maitreyi Dutta of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technical Teacher Training and Research, Chandigarh, explained in detail about the various methods of information technology. She talked about how artificial intelligence is proving useful for society. Technology had become so advanced that it had made our lifestyle very easy, she added. Dr Dutta said technical mediums were useful for researchers, and helped teachers to enhance their teaching skills. Vice-Chancellor Sudesh said it was important to update oneself with technology. Today, in the race of modernity, technology was the only thing that keeps us up to date. She called upon the students to do more and more research work.
College students analyse Budget
Yamunanagar: The Management Department of TIMT organised an insightful discussion on Budget 2025-26, featuring expert analysis by Anil Angrish, Associate Professor, NIPER. Students actively participated in evaluating the Budget’s impact across different sectors, enhancing their understanding of economic policies and decision-making. During the discussion, students raised critical questions, including concerns about rising inflation due to increased government spending. The session concluded with Director Vikas Daryal emphasising the importance of Budget discussions in enhancing students’ analytical and reasoning skills. He noted that such events are organised annually, fostering a deeper understanding of economic policies.
Patent granted for transplanter
Kurukshetra: University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Kurukshetra, has obtained a patent for the Multi Vegetable Transplanter Machine. The key feature of this machine is that it has two trays with which 350 saplings can be planted at a time. Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva said the university was committed to promoting research, and students were playing a pivotal role in fulfilling research commitments. UIET Director Sunil Dhingra said getting a patent was possible only by working continuously on any challenge. In the agricultural sector, the work of planting saplings was done by hand, taking a lot of manpower and time, however, due to this machine, the process will become more efficient, he added. Vishal Ahlawat from the Mechanical Department, who played a key role in getting this patent, said this patent was applied for in June 2023 with the meticulous input of 19 students from the Mechanical Department.
