Campus Notes: Anti-Ragging Week concludes
Rohtak: The Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences (PGIDS) concluded its anti-ragging week by holding a series of competitions to raise awareness about the issue. Principal Sanjay Tewari said a drawing, poster, e-poster and slogan competition were organised. In the poster-making category, Juhi Yadav stood first, Anjali and Babita Sharma secured second and third position, respectively. In the slogan writing competition, Deeksha, Heena and Gunjan bagged first, second and third position.
Ortho Pathshala organised
Rohtak: The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics organised Ortho Pathshala at Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences. Dean (Academic Affairs) Dhruv Chaudhary said medicine and dentistry are interdisciplinary approaches. He also said that the programme will help in treatment of patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea. Dr Rekha Sharma, Head, Department of Orthodontics, told the students that early diagnosis will help in treating malocclusion that is developing in society.
Workshop on Entrepreneurship
Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Khalsa College organised a comprehensive workshop on ‘Unleash Your Potential: The Power of Entrepreneurial Thinking’. The event was spearheaded by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Incubation Centre, and Sustainable Development Goals Lab, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, in collaboration with the DAIS. Key speaker Nikhil Mittal offered profound insights into essential entrepreneurial skills, including writing effective ideas, better decision-making, managing stress, addressing mental health issues, and ensuring personal wellbeing. Another speaker, Salil Bajaj shared his experiences and knowledge on the entrepreneurial journey, emphasising the importance of understanding risks, bootstrapping and networking.
Poster-making competition
Jhajjar: A poster-making competition on ‘Indian space mission’ was organised by the Geography Department at Government PG Nehru College here. Varsha got first position, Ankita stood second, and Praveen and Namay came third. Principal Dalbir Singh, Head of Geography Department Surendra Kumar and senior professor Rajendra Arora encouraged the students. Associate Professor Lalit Kumar presented certificates to the winning students.
