Campus notes: Artistry carnival
Karnal: The fine arts, painting and cartooning committee of Dyal Singh College organised a two-day bonanza ‘Artistry Carnival’ on Friday and Saturday. As many as 82 budding artists participated in collage-making, cartooning, rangoli and mehndi competitions. The participants showcased their creativity by portraying burning topics such as women empowerment, voter awareness, education system and environment issues through their creations. Principal Ashima Gakhar appreciated and encouraged the participants. In cartooning competition, Sara Jain, Garima and Jyoti bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively, while Himashi got the consolation prize. In collage-making contest, Kashish Garg, Lokesh Juneja and Tanisha bagged the top three positions, respectively. The rangoli competition winners were Gunjan, Sevil and Ravi Rana, while in the mehndi contest, the top three positions were bagged by Md Suaib, Parneet Kaur and Simran, respectively.
Red Cross training camp
Kaithal: Mukesh, Gurmeet, Sameer and Anmol of Youth Red Cross cell of RKSD College participated in a state-level Youth Red Cross training camp held at Geeta Gyan Sansthan in Kurukshetra. Activities involving quiz, poster-making, mimicry, dance, debate and extempore speeches were organised during the six-day camp. Mukesh won the Best Volunteer Award and the college team was adjudged the best team. College principal Sanjay Goyal congratulated the volunteers. TNS
