Yamunanagar: The 110th birth anniversary of Tilak Raj Chadha, fondly known as Bapu Ji, was celebrated with enthusiasm at TIMT, Yamunanagar. The event was attended by Chadha family members, including Varun Chadha, Shalini Chadha, great grand-daughter Nimisha, great-grand son Karmanya and Dr Mamta Bhargav, Kunal Bhargav, Kiran Chawla, Amrita, alumnus Pooja Sund (director, engineering finance at Microsoft) along with Dr RK Garg and Dr Ramesh Kumar. They paid tributes to Tilak Raj Chadha, remembering his unparalleled contributions to society and his role in shaping Mukand Institutions. The event included various activities reflecting on the life and philosophy of Bapu Ji through inspirational speeches from Deepakshi (MBA final year) and Ananya (BCA first semester) shared insights into Bapu Ji's life, emphasising his selfless dedication to societal welfare. Dr Vikas Daryal, director of TIMT, presented the annual report for the institute, highlighting achievements over the past year. TIMT secured 749 university positions and 19 gold medalists to date, including 102 positions this year across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Special recognitions were Ridhi (MCA final, batch 2020-2024) was awarded ?11,000 and Kanwalpreet Kaur (MBA) and Simran (BBA), who secured second positions, received ?5,100 each. Shikha (MBA) and Akshi (BBA), third-position holders, were awarded ?3,100 each, along with a medal, certificate, and executive bag for securing the University positions. He also shared the national recognition and rankings of the Institute. TIMT's reputation for excellence was highlighted during the celebration with an announcement of its remarkable rankings that includes, recognised as the 200th Best B-School overall in India by Business Today - MDRA, 2024. Ranked fourth in Haryana and 13th among the top B-Schools of Excellence across India in the CRS Best B-School Survey, 2023. Achieved 42nd rank in Indian MBA Rankings, 2024 and secured the 31st rank in north zone by Outlook I Care, 2024. The management of the institution announced a cash prize of Rs 31,000 to those who participated in the event.
Educational tour organised
Yamunanagar: A one-day educational tour was organised by the Education Department of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, through which the students were taken to the International Gita Jayanti Festival 2024 in Kurukshetra. The main objective of the educational tour was to provide the students with an opportunity to observe the entire cultural and religious heritage of Haryana and India. In the festival, pandals of art, culture and handicrafts were set up by the government and social organisations at Brahma Sarovar, where the students got an opportunity to learn and see a lot, the main attraction of the festival was the commendable effort to reach every human being with the knowledge and teachings given by Lord Shri Krishna in the form of Gita. On the occasion, many cultural programmes were also organised by Kurukshetra University, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the students and all teachers to go on the educational tour. The tour was inaugurated by the college officiating Principal Dr Pratima Sharma and sent off with best wishes. College management committee chairman Sardar Randeep Singh Jauhar expressed happiness over the success of the tour and said such programmes developed social values in the students. AIDS control awareness campaign
Panipatr: On behalf of the community medicine department of NC Medical College and Hospital, Israna, the Jan Jagran Abhiyan , an AIDS awareness campaign, was launched in Brahmanwas village on December 13. World AIDS Day is celebrated on December 1 every year. World AIDS month is being celebrated in December this year. December is being celebrated as an AIDS control awareness campaign on the theme of "Take the right path". In the campaign, the students of MBBS year 2023 of the institute presented a short play in front of the villagers for the prevention and control of AIDS disease in Brahmanwas (Dahar) village. The villagers appreciated the presentation and also said if such awareness programmes were conducted from time to time, diseases such as AIDS could be prevented. Major-General Dr PK Singh, Principal of NC Medical College, said due to the lack of an effective vaccine and hundred per cent treatment for a deadly disease like AIDS, the knowledge of the disease was the only protection. Dr Kamaljit Singh, professor and head of the department of community medicine, said for protection from AIDS, all together, should take a pledge to eradicate the disease by running an AIDS public awareness campaign. In the episode, the community medicine department has launched a Jan Jagran Abhiyan. Renu Community Health Officer Ayushmann Arogya Mandir Dahar, Suman ANM and their team worked hard to make the campaign successful. In the AIDS awareness campaign, Dr Vedpal, Dr Himani, Dr Swati Jarole, Dr Mahendra Singh, Dr Vikas and Vijay Kumar Health Inspector were also present.
