Hisar: The Divisional Employment Office organised an awareness programme on various employment schemes under Vocational Employment Guidance Week at the Government Industrial Training Institute, Hisar. Career expert and Assistant Employment Officer Sunil Kumari said the state Employment Department was celebrating Vocational Employment Guidance Week to raise awareness among students about career choices and self-employment opportunities. She said hard work, dedication and continuous practice were key to success, especially in today's competitive environment. Officials from the institute and the employment office, including Ramesh and Rajpal Yadav, were present at the event.

Digital culture Tool developed

Hisar: The Faculty of Education, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, led by Prof Vandana Punia, has developed a psychological tool called the Digital Culture Measurement (DCS-PVRRLSSS) tool. The tool was launched by Vice-Chancellor Narsiram Bishnoi in the presence of technical advisor Sandeep Rana. It assesses key aspects of digital culture, including e-learning attitudes, cyber culture awareness, social media influence, cyber productivity and knowledge of cyber laws. It would assist educators, students and institutions in adapting to the digital era.

Sonepat varsity VC at eco forum

Sonepat: OP Jindal Global University vice-chancellor C Raj Kumar participated as a distinguished speaker at the round table discussion on the theme “Balancing Humanity, Nature, and Artificial Intelligence in Harmony”, organised by the Purpose Driven Innovation Ecosystem (PDIE) Group on Monday at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. The WEF convenes annually in Davos to bring together global leaders from all walks of life to address critical global and regional challenges. The WEF Annual Meeting-2025, held from January 20 to 24 under the theme “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age”, brings together around 3,000 global leaders from over 130 countries. PDIE Group, the host of the round table, builds global innovation ecosystems for sustainable entrepreneurs, corporations, investors and researchers to solve the world's greatest challenges.

National Voters' Day celebrated

Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamunanagar, recently celebrated the 15th District-Level National Voters' Day. Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner Capt Manoj Kumar was the chief guest at the event. CTM Pyush Gupta and Dr Suman Bhatia, Principal, Government College, Saraswati Nagar, Yamunanagar, were also present to mark National Voters’ Day. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. A voter awareness rally was also held, with students displaying posters highlighting the significance of voting. Students took an oath to exercise their right to vote and fulfill their responsibilities. Captain Kumar said our Constitution had granted us the right to vote, and we must exercise it as responsible citizens of the country. College Director Dr Varinder Gandhi said voting was our right as well as our duty because of the crucial role it played in shaping our country's future. Students who excelled in various co-curricular activities were awarded prizes. Principal Narinder Pal Kaur thanked all the guests for attending the event.

Surya Namaskar session held

Bhiwani: Under the ‘Har Ghar Surya Namaskar Abhiyan’, organised by the Higher Education Department, the Yoga Club of Vaish College organised a ‘Surya Namaskar’ session at the college. Acting Principal Dr Savita Jain highlighted the health benefits of the ‘Surya Namaskar’, including improved blood circulation, digestion, muscle strength and stress reduction. Convener Dr Reena guided participants through 12 asanas. Regular sessions will continue at the college until February 12, promoting physical and mental wellbeing among students and staff.

Legal literacy seminar organised

Fatehabad: A seminar was recently organised under the chairmanship of District Attorney Devender Mittal and Assistant District Attorney Abhishek Kumar at Mani Ram Godara Government College for women in Bhodia Khera village of Fatehabad district. The seminar was attended by 160 students and faculty members. The visitors apprised the students of newly introduced laws. Detailed information was shared about these laws, including recent updates, and participants’ queries were addressed.
