Hisar: Former Rajya Sabha MP Lieutenant General (retired) DP Vats inaugurated the central investigation lab at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. During the event, he emphasised that under Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s leadership, the government, society and Jindal family’s collaboration made this advanced lab a boon for patients. Highlighting the collective responsibility to provide superior healthcare services, he commended the college’s dedication to ensuring no patient is turned away and wished them continued success. Administrative Director Dr Ashutosh Sharma elaborated that the lab consolidates pathology, microbiology and biochemistry facilities, enabling accurate, centralised testing for all patients.

SAI officials visit Khelo India Centre

Yamunanagar: In a significant development for sports infrastructure at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, officials of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sonepat, visited Small Khelo India Centre for Weightlifting at the college. Meeta Bhardwaj, Assistant Director, and Ashok Kumar, Young Professional (Khelo India), were present during the visit and took a detailed review of the facilities provided to athletes at the centre. The officials interacted with all athletes present and expressed their appreciation for high-quality infrastructure and training environment at the centre. Both Meeta Bhardwaj and Ashok Kumar gave positive remarks, commending the efforts put in by the college to provide world-class training and support for weightlifters, in line with the objectives of Khelo India initiative. Dr Ranjit Singh, Head of the Department of Physical Education, remarked that the visit of SAI officials validated the hard work put in by their staff, coaches and athletes. The Small Khelo India Centre continues to serve as a platform for fostering future champions, he said.

NSS camp organised in school

Bhiwani: A seven-day camp of National Service Scheme (NSS) is being organised in Government Senior Secondary School in Sanga of Bhiwani district. A poster-making competition on the theme of road safety was held during the camp. Aarti, Lalita, Riya came first, second and third, respectively in the competition. Addressing the volunteers, Principal Ashok Kumar Pahal motivated them to always keep in mind the rule of the white driving on the roadside and to keep the original documents with them while riding a bike or travelling in car on the road. He said that traffic rules have been made to prevent road accidents. NSS Programme Officer Ramdhan Shastri said that by participating in NSS camp, along with social development of students, their character is built and the feeling of patriotism is also awakened, so that they could become civilised citizens and play a positive role in the progress of society and nation.

NSS Volunteers Honoured by CM

Yamunanagar: Six NSS volunteers from Seth Jai Prakash Polytechnic, Damla in Yamunanagar, showcased their talent by securing the top three positions in the district-level startup competition. They were honoured by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in a function held at Indradhanush Stadium, Panchkula, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from numerous contestants. These promising volunteers honed their skills and delivered outstanding performances under the guidance of NSS Program Officer and Lecturer Richa Kharbanda. Principal Anil Kumar congratulated all the prize winners for their great accomplishment, stating that this success was not just a matter of pride for the institute but for the entire district. He encouraged other students to participate in such competitions, emphasising that these experiences enhanced students’ skills and confidence.
