A convocation ceremony was recently held at Guru Nanak Khalsa Group of Institutions. More than 450 students of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Guru Nanak Khalsa Institute of Technology and Management and Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy were awarded degrees at the event. Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva, as the chief guest, said the day not only marked the end of the graduands’ academic journey, but the beginning of a future full of promise and responsibility. “Let the knowledge you have gained guide you to create a better tomorrow,” he added. College Principal Dr Pratima Sharma presented a vote of thanks, marking the end of the event.
College preps for International conference
Rewari: A multidisciplinary two-day international conference is set to be organised under the joint aegis of IQAC and Research Cell of Kishanlal Public College here on March 6 and 7. The conference’s theme is “Inclusive Approach: Emerging Interrelationship of Science, Commerce and Humanities”. The event is set to be attended — both online and offline — by more than 350 scholars, researchers, academicians, industry-professionals and students from 11 countries. Principal and conference chairperson Dr Kavita Gupta said the conference would bring together thinkers and experts from various fields to explore how integrated approaches could shape the future, and progress industries and academic disciplines.
physics, urban climate workshop
Sonepat: A five-day practical workshop on “Building Physics and Urban Climate” was organised at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal. Vice-Chancellor Shri Prakash Singh said knowledge had no geographical boundaries. Knowledge grew only by sharing it, he added. He said, while researching a subject, one should question if the research is environmentally friendly, and for human welfare. The workshop provided intensive training to participants on cutting edge software tools such as NV-Mate and Design Builder. Fifty-two participants completed the training on these software. For this training programme, 56 participants were selected out of 125 applicants.
Global Family Day marked
Rohtak: Students of King’s College India, Rohtak, class Primary 1 (Marigolds) marked Global Family Day with an assembly on environmental conservation. Cynthia and Advay opened the event, highlighting the virtues of peace and unity, and our duty to protect the planet. The highlight of the event was The Battle for Our Earth!, a skit were ‘pollution villains’ clashed with ‘eco-heroes’ like Captain Clean and Recycling Ranger. The event ended with a reminder that pollution threatens both the environment and our future.
