Campus notes: Farewell ceremony
Tilak Raj Chadha Institute of Management and Technology (TIMT) recently organised a farewell ceremony for the graduands of BBA and MBA courses. The event aimed to celebrate the achievements, memories and journey of final-year students at the institute. Director Vikas Daryal congratulated graduands for their journey from being first-year students to confident professionals ready to enter the corporate world. He exhorted them to carry forward the values of discipline, integrity and perseverance instilled at the institute, and remain lifelong learners.
Interview skills workshop
Sonepat: A workshop on interview skills was held at Sports University of Haryana, Rai, in Sonepat. Vice-Chancellor Ashok Kumar emphasised the importance of understanding job requirements, knowing one’s strengths and weaknesses, and staying updated with current affairs and developments in the field. He advised students to study about the interviewing company/institution thoroughly, and present themselves confidently and professionally. Factors like leadership qualities, presentation skills, communication, posture and body language played a vital role in interviews, he said. He gave tips to overcome stress and nervousness during interviews and exhorted the attendees to give fact-based answers in interviews. He also shared insights on handling online interviews. The interactive session was attended by faculty, including coaches, and students.
Sanskrit prof launches book
Kaithal: Vinay Singhal, Head, department of Sanskrit, RKSD College, recently launched her translated and edited book ‘Jalavadanam’. Acharya Mahavir Prasad Vidyavachaspati was the chief guest at the book-launch event, while Principal Satyabir Mehla was the special guest. The book, a collection of Sanskrit plays, aims to revive the staging of Sanskrit dramas in educational institutions. Acharya Vidyavachaspati and Mehla appreciated Singhal’s dedication towards preserving and promoting Sanskrit literature. The event was attended by faculty and students.
National award for VC
Mahendragarh: Central University of Haryana Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar has been honoured with the National University Governance and Management Award by the Confederation of Indian Universities at a ceremony held recently in New Delhi. The award recognises Kumar’s contribution to academic excellence and administrative leadership as well as his efforts toward creating opportunities for the intellectual development of students. The award was presented by High Commissioner of South Africa to India Anil Sooklal.
