Campus notes: Guru Nanak Khalsa College shines at yoga event
Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, won gold medals in both the men’s and women’s categories at the Yoga Inter-College Competition 2024-25, held at Kurukshetra University. The event saw participation from various colleges. Pratima Sharma, Officiating Principal, said that this victory reflected the high standards of physical education and discipline that the college promoted. Head Ranjit Singh and Sanjay Vij, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Education, said that this victory was a result of years of rigorous training and commitment of both students and faculty. He said Mangal Singh had been instrumental in training and motivating the students. Sardar Randeep Singh Jauhar, president of the governing body and managing committee of the college, said it was a momentous achievement for the college.
Seminar held at Ch Devi Lal College of Ayurveda
Yamunanagar: Ch. Devi Lal College of Ayurveda, Jagadhri, Department of Panchkarma, organised a one-day seminar on the topic “Efficacy of Panchkarma in Clinical Practice”. The programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by Vd Kartar Singh Dhiman, Vice Chancellor, SKAU, Kurukshetra; Dr Manjeet Singh, Civil Surgeon of Yamunanagar; Akash Chawla, general secretary of Ch Devi Lal Group of Institutions; Manish Chandra, Administrator, Dr Basant Kumar, Principal of the college, Jagadhri. Dr Sanjay M. Kadlimatti, Principal, Bldea’s VS Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Hospital and Research Centre, Vijaypur, Karnataka, and Dr Anandraman PV, Professor, Medical Superintendent, All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi, were the eminent speakers in this event. Both speakers shared their clinical, practical and research work experiences with participants. In this programme, many practitioners, faculty members and students of different institutes participated. A poster presentation programme was also organised at this event.
Rubal selected as Civil Judge
Sonepat: Rubal, a student of Law Department of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, has been selected as a Civil Judge in Rajasthan Judicial Services. Prof Sudesh, the Vice- Chancellor of BPSMV, commended Rubal on her accomplishment and stated that it would encourage other students to do their best. VC Sudesh honored Rubal by presenting a copy of Satyarth Prakash and a memento. Rubal, a BA-LLB student of 2017-2022 batch, secured 76th rank in the judiciary exam. She attributed this success to her parents and teachers. Officiating Registrar Shweta Singh; HOD, Law Department, Seema Dahiya; Rubal’s mother Preeti and other family members were present on the occasion. Later, during a discussion with students, Rubal spoke about the difficulties encountered during preparation for competitive exams.
