Mahendragarh: On the occasion of the 17th foundation day of Central University of Haryana (CUH), a hawan-pujan was organised at the university. Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar was among those who participated in the hawan. Kumar congratulated all stakeholders and said the university was moving towards continuous progress. He said the university had established a distinct identity nationally and internationally in a short period of just 16 years, which was remarkable. He expressed gratitude to all participants for their cooperation.

Science teaching competition

Mahendragarh: Central University of Haryana (CUH) is set to organise an “Innovative Science Teaching Contest” on the occasion of National Science Day. The aim of the competition is to encourage innovative teaching efforts that make science education more accessible and engaging for students. The university is set to host a two-day event on February 27 and 28. Prof AK Yadav, convener, National Science Day-2025, said this year’s event would feature the first-ever competition focused on innovative science teaching for teachers. In the competition, teachers from schools and universities will showcase their innovative teaching methods that present scientific knowledge to students in an engaging and interesting way. As part of the event, the National Science Centre, New Delhi, will host science shows, including “Science Behind Miracles” and “Liquid Nitrogen”.

National-level tagline contest

Yamunanagar: The Commerce Calibre Club, Department of Commerce, and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, organised an online national-level tagline competition on various themes such as innovation and business, advertising, and creativity. The competition received an overwhelming response, with entries pouring in from institutions based in Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. Officiating Principal Dr Pratima Sharma lauded the initiative, stating that such competitions encouraged students’ to think innovatively. Parul from JMIT, Radaur, secured the first prize; Ashu from Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, won the second prize; and Shaurya Garg from Christ University, Bangalore, bagged the third prize. Additionally, Athithi and Sapna were awarded consolation prizes for their creative contributions. Cash prizes were given to the winners, while e-certificates were provided to all participants.

Extension lecture on filmmaking

Kaithal: An extension lecture on filmmaking was organised at Indira Gandhi (PG) Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kaithal, with an aim to provide valuable insights into filmmaking and the cultural heritage of the state. The event was organised under the joint aegis of Cine Foundation and Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Haryana, by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of the varsity. Governing Body President Ram Bahadur Khuranua was the chief guest at the event. Dr Abhishek Goel, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dr BR Ambedkar College, Kaithal, encouraged students to explore various themes in filmmaking to convey impactful social messages. The event also featured the unveiling of the Film Festival-2025 poster.
