Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, organised an induction programme to welcome new students of the Department of Commerce and the faculty of Arts. The programme aimed to familiarise the newcomers with the college’s academic environment, resources and various opportunities available to them. Principal Harinder Singh Kang said the programme is an essential step in ensuring that the new students are well-prepared to embark on their academic journey. Jaswinder Kaur, Dean of Commerce, warmly welcomed the students, while Sanjay Arora, Head of the Commerce Department, highlighted the new academic session’s plans and expectations. Ashok Khurana elaborated on the Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Cell and the incubation centre, encouraging students to explore entrepreneurial ventures. Rajinder Singh Vohra provided insights into the placement cell’s activities and career support available to students. All the faculty members of the Commerce Department were present, showing their support for the new students.
Counselling for vacant seats
Mahendragarh: Central University of Haryana (CUH) will conduct counselling in online and offline blended mode on August 8 to fill vacant seats in various PG courses. Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar said registered candidates can participate in on-the-spot counselling. Schedule of counselling in both modes, details of vacant seats and other information is available on the website of the university.
Orientation programme held
Jhajjar: Government Postgraduate Nehru College, Jhajjar, organised an orientation programme for students in the college auditorium. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dalbir Singh by lighting the lamp. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the world was changing rapidly and students should adapt themselves to it and acquire technical knowledge. The stage was conducted by Professor Sunita Beniwal and Meenakshi. Music Department students Jyoti, Kapil, Muskan, Sachin, Komal, Chandu and Megha presented Saraswati Vandana and group songs under the guidance of professors Tamsa and Tina Chawla.
