Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Khalsa Institute of Technology and Management-Technical Campus (GNKITM-TC) has made Haryana and Yamunanagar proud after being ranked in the ‘Best B-Schools in India 2024’ list, which is released by Fortune India Magazine and Ascension Centre for Research and Analytics (ACRA). The institute has been ranked 172 in India and 56 in North India. The ranking evaluated criteria such as attractiveness of the admission process, age and brand identity of the institute, placements and ROI (Return on Investment), teaching methodology and infrastructure, industry linkages and distance with leading B-Schools. The institute has outperformed many institutes in tier-1 cities by excelling in pedagogy and infrastructure. This reflects the institute's modern facilities, innovative curriculum and student-centric environment. The institute's Director, Dr Amit Joshi, said this achievement is the result of hard work of the faculty, staff and students and the visionary thinking of the GNK Group of Institutions. Group COO Dr Peer Ghulam Nabi appreciated the achievement of GNKITM-TC. Group Chairman Randeep Singh Johar called it a symbol of the institute's continuous efforts for the benefit of students, parents, industry and other stakeholders.
Online process for PhD admission
Mahendragarh: The online application process for admission to PhD programmes at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, for the academic session 2024-25 has commenced from December 5. Candidates can apply online for admission to PhD programmes offered by various departments of the university till December 23, 2024. While inaugurating the admission portal, Vice-Chancellor Prof Tankeshwar Kumar emphasised the university's commitment to fostering education, research, innovation and skill development in alignment with the National Education Policy. Registrar Prof Suneel Kumar expressed his joy at the launch of the admission process. Prof Phool Singh provided details, mentioning that the online application process will continue till December 23 for 200 PhD seats available across 31 departments. A list of candidates exempted from the entrance test will be released on December 28 and admit cards for the entrance test will be issued on December 30. The entrance examination is scheduled for January 12. Applicants eligible under GATE/GPAT criteria will be exempted from the entrance test. Interviews for PhD admissions will begin on January 13 and if seats remain vacant, a second list will be published on January 20. Dr Amit Kumar, Assistant Registrar of Academic and Counselling Branch, shared that candidates can apply for the PhD programmes through university website or Samarth Portal link https://cuhadm.samarth.edu.in/.
AIDS awareness rally organised
Kurukshetra: An awareness rally on HIV/AIDS was organised by Red Ribbon Club, Legal Literacy Cell and Women Development Cell of IGN College, Ladwa, from the college premises to Sai Colony, Ladwa. College Principal Dr Kushal Pal said such kind of rallies were important in spreading awareness related to preventing the spread of the disease, helps reduce social stigma and support those affected. Sunita Rani, Dr Vandana Gupta and Dr Niti Goyal were also present during the rally.
Students shine at Katha Utsav contest
Yamunanagar: In a remarkable achievement, three students from Swaraj Public School, Damla, have been shortlisted for the national finals of the esteemed Katha Utsav story writing competition. The students had earlier impressed the judges with their creative writing skills at the regional round held at Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram, under the mentorship of language teachers Jaspreet Kaur and Priyanka Thakur. Principal Jyoti Nagpal Sethi extended her warmest congratulations to the students and wished them all the best for the national finals, scheduled to take place later this month.
