Campus Notes: National seminar on Tech Fusion
Rewari: Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur village, organised a national seminar on "Tech Fusion". Vice Chancellor JP Yadav presided over the event, while Prof Arvind Kumar Bhatt from the Department of Biotechnology, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla; Prof Harish Dureja from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak; and industry expert Amit Kumar Garg were present as keynote speakers.
IGU Registrar Pramod Kumar welcomed the speakers and honored them by presenting mementoes. Yadav said the syllabus of technical courses should be based on industry-oriented guidelines. Programme coordinator Prof Sunil Kumar apprised the students of the modern uses of research and technology. He emphasised on topics like 'School to Start Up Igniting Young Minds Student Club' and explained in detail by giving examples on how to move forward in this field. Prof Bhatt detailed on 'Entrepreneurship Opportunity in Life Science’. He also shared the importance of the role of technology in the pharma sector. Prof Dureja said in the coming days, artificial intelligence (AI) would play an important role in the health sector. Industry expert Amit Garg apprised the participants of skill development.
After the seminar, scientific poster and innovative idea competitions were organised. Isha Yadav and Navdeep Yadav bagged the first prize, Pemu and Kanchan got the second prize and Himanshi and Jatin got the third prize.
Anti-ragging week observed
Yamunanagar: JN Kapoor DAV Centenary Dental College, Yamunanagar, observed an anti-ragging week. Principal IK Pandit, while inaugurating the programme, said the ragging week was observed as per the directives of Dental Council of India, UGC and the Government of India in their commitment to show and follow ‘zero tolerance’ to ragging in all government and private dental institutions of the country. He added that various inter-class competitions such as slogan and essay writing, poster making and logo designing were held on the anti-ragging theme in the college. The winners were awarded certificates to encourage them to promote anti-ragging in the college.
