Hisar: A two-day placement drive was organised by the placement cell at Government College for Women, Hisar, on January 9. On the first day, an extension lecture was delivered by Jagdeep Singh, a certified national stock exchange trainer. He emphasised the importance of financial planning, saving for future uncertainties and the effects of inflation and currency devaluation. The programme was conducted by Shaina, with students actively resolving their financial queries. .

Students honoured at Bhiwani school

Bhiwani: Two students of Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Bhiwani, Nishant Sharma and Gagandeep, represented Haryana at the 51st National Children's Science Exhibition held at Rai Sports University, Sonepat, under the guidance of teachers Anil Kumar Arora and Manoj Kumar. Their innovative project used CRISPR 9 enzyme to address AIDS/HIV and highlighted traditional Indian foods like Tulsi and Amla for boosting immunity. An award ceremony was held to honour the students, teachers and the school's science faculty for the achievement.

College celebrates Parkash Purb

Yamunanagar: Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, celebrated the Parkash Purb of Shri Guru Gobind Singh with devotion and reverence at the college gurdwara sahib. The event featured the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib Path and kirtan by the staff. Dr Pratima Sharma emphasised on guru's teachings on unity and spirituality. Sardar Randeep Singh Jauhar praised the college for preserving Sikh traditions, highlighting Guru Gobind Singh's ideals of righteousness, courage and service as a guide for humanity.

Workshop on 'Sikh heritage' organised

Yamunanagar:A one-day workshop on "Sikh heritage" was organised at Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamunanagar, on Thursday. The resource person, Sardar Amardeep Singh, an author, filmmaker and former corporate executive, shared his thoughts on Sikh heritage with the audience on the occasion. The general secretary of the college, Sardar MS Sawhney and Director Dr Varinder Gandhi welcomed the chief guest on his arrival at the college. Officiating Principal, Prof Narinderpal Kaur stated that such programmes were a powerful medium to connect the younger generation with the rich Sikh heritage. The resource person shared his experiences from his travels to Pakistan and discussed the vision of Shri Guru Nanak Dev during the first session of the programme. Short clips from the documentary comprising 24 episodes about the founder of Sikhism, Shri Guru Nanak Dev, were also presented.
