Sonepat: A special programme was held on Bal Veer Diwas in Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal. On this occasion, the keynote speaker was Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Rohtak Department Karyavahak, Devendra. The programme was presided over by the University's Vice Chancellor Prof Shree Prakash Singh. RSS Karyavahak Devendra said tradition was the soul of our culture. He said that every year more than 2,000 festivals were celebrated in our country and those festivals were based on our traditions. He said that traditions inspired us and instilled values in a person. Before the programme started, floral tributes were paid to the portraits of Guru Gobind Singh's sahibzaade Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Zorawar Singh. The stage was conducted by Dr Pradeep Singh. On this occasion, Prof Suresh Verma, Prof Vijay Sharma, Prof Sukhdeep Singh, Prof Parvindra Singh, Dr Birendra Singh, Dr Jagvendra Singh, Dr Naresh Kumar, Dr Mehar Singh, Principal Dr Naresh Antil, Manish and others were present..

Seven-day NSS camp organised

Kaithal: A seven-day camp was inaugurated by both the units of the National Service Scheme (NSS) at the Indira Gandhi (PG) Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kaithal, for the session 2024-25. The camp began with prayers after which the students practiced yoga. Ram Bahadur Khurania, president, Governing Body; Dr Aarti Garg, college principal; Shweta Tanwar, principal in-charge, Evening College and the students planted the saplings. As special guest, Ajay Kumar, Executive Engineer, HPGCL, Yamunanagar; Dr Ruchi, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics Sciences and Surbhi Sharma, former principal in-charge, Evening College were present on the occasion. The theme of the camp was 'Youth for My India' and 'Digital Literacy'. On this occasion, Pooja Moga, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science, presented a lecture on drug addiction which the students listened to with great enthusiasm. The college principal said the camp would continue till December 31 in which lectures by experts from various fields, skill development and activities related to the de-addiction campaign would be organised. NSS in-charge Renu Bala, Dr Deepa and Anita Gupta were present.
