Campus notes: Resume-writing workshop

Yamunanagar: A resume writing workshop was organised at Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri, on January 17, for BBA and BCom final year students. Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr Karuna emphasised on the importance of a well-crafted resume during interviews. Gourav Bareja, convener, placement cell, who was the keynote speaker of the workshop, highlighted the significance of creating an authentic, detailed and appealing resume. He demonstrated how to use free software to design effective resumes and encouraged students to include their participation in events or clubs. The workshop aimed to help students prepare resume that stand out and impress interviewers.

‘Our Constitution, Our Self-Respect’

Sonepat: While addressing a gathering during ‘Our Constitution, Our Self-Respect’ xampaign, Prof Prakash Singh, Vice Chancellor, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal, said, “Our Constitution is a mirror of India’s centuries-old culture, history and traditions. There are 22 miniatures in the original copy of the Constitution, which have been inscribed very thoughtfully by our Constitution makers.” The Vice Chancellor said, “The Chakra in our Constitution, taken from the Ashoka Pillar, has 24 spokes. These spokes mean that we should work 24 hours a day for development of our nation. Students should know how many members should be there in the drafting committee of the Constitution.” The Vice Chancellor said, “Our constitution makers have written about fundamental rights. They have inscribed the picture of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita and brother Lakshman. This picture is of the time when Lord Shri Ram was returning to Ayodhya after conquering Lanka. We have to understand what message our constitution makers have given us through this picture.”

Dr Ajay Kumar is DCRUST Registrar

Sonepat: The Haryana Government has appointed Dr Ajay Kumar Garg as the Registrar, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal. According to the official notification issued by Haryana Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh, in this regard, Haryana Governor and University Chancellor Bandaru Dattatreya has given the charge to Dr Garg along with his current responsibilities. Dr Ajay Kumar Garg assumed charge of the Registrar on Sunday in the presence of university Vice Chancellor Prof Shri Prakash Singh. Prof Singh congratulated Dr Garg on taking over as the university Registrar.

Inter-class cricket competition

Bhiwani: Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalaya organised an inter-class cricket competition showcasing talents of girl students. Dr Suresh Gupta, president, Badminton Association, was the chief guest, while Ashok Buwaniwala, general secretary, College Managing Committee, was the special guest on the occasion. Dr Gupta praised growing presence of women in cricket, traditionally seen as a male-dominated sport. Ashok Buwaniwala emphasised that sports promote mental peace and self-confidence, while teaching values like discipline and teamwork. Principal Dr Alka Mittal highlighted the event’s role in strengthening students physically and mentally.
