Sonepat: BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya organised a Sanskar Samman Programme to pay tribute to Bhagat Phool Singh on his 82nd martyrdom day and Padma Shri Subhashini Devi on her 110th birth anniversary. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Sudesh called upon the university community to work with team spirit. The programme began with the lighting of a lamp and Saraswati Vandana. The students presented speeches and a play, and also danced to the tunes of patriotic songs. The VC released a magazine — Subhashita — produced under the aegis of Padma Shri Subhashini Devi (Research Chair). Dean Academic Affairs Sanket Vij, Officiating Registrar Shweta Singh, Prof Ipsita Bansal, Prof Ashok Verma, Prof Ravi Bhushan and Dr Suman Dalal also addressed the gathering.
Students bring laurels to RKSD
Kaithal: Two students of RKSD College — Jyoti and Kamini — of MA Hindi (Semester IV) have secured second and sixth positions, respectively, in the overall results declared recently by Kurukshetra University. Jyoti secured 76 per cent marks and Kamini scored 74.2 per cent. Principal Sanjay Goyal congratulated the students and the Hindi Department for their success. HoD of Hindi Department RP Maun congratulated them. Prof OP Saini, Prof Sharad Gaur, Prof Varsha Moun, Prof Deepshikha and Prof Kailash were also present on the occasion.
Vibhajan ki Vibhishika Smriti Diwas
Mahendragarh: ‘Vibhajan ki Vibhishika Smriti Diwas’ was organised at Central University of Haryana (CUH) here. Chief guest Markandey Ahuja, former Vice-Chancellor, Gurugram University, said today is the day to remember those who died in anonymity during the horrifying events of 1947, when the country was partitioned. It is time to remember this horror and take a pledge to protect ourselves from any such danger in the future. Narendra Parmar, HoD, Department of History, presented the outline of the programme. Vice-Chancellor Tankeshwar Kumar said the Partition could have been avoided; he said it took the lives of millions of people and gave such pain to thousands of families that cannot be forgotten for generations, he added.
