Campus notes: Students bring laurels to Sirsa varsity

Hisar: Students of Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, who participated in the three days State Youth Festival organised in Palwal, secured second place in group song and group dance competition and third spot in folk song solo event. The students have represented the university in various events in the youth festival. Assistant Director Rajesh Chhikara, Dr Manju Nehra, Director of Youth Welfare Directorate, congratulated the students for their achievement. Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education and CDLU Vice-Chancellor Vineet Garg, along with university Registrar Dr Rajesh Kumar Bansal, congratulated the participants on their success and wished them a bright future. They encouraged the students to continue bringing glory to the university at both state and national levels.

Chief Secretary visits hisar varsity

Hisar: Haryana's Chief Secretary, Vivek Joshi, visited Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, on Monday. He lauded the university for its progress in various fields. Joshi had served as the Registrar in the university years ago. He recalled his tenure as the Registrar of the university and acknowledged the developments in research, teaching, and infrastructure. During the visit to the campus, he planted a sapling and paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar by offering floral tributes at the statue. Vice-Chancellor Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, presented a booklet on Guru Jambheshwar's biography and discussed future plans for new academic programmes and courses to meet student needs.

NSS volunteers promote cleanliness

Bhiwani: The seven-day NSS camp at Government Senior Secondary School, Dulheri, in Bhiwani district concluded with a successful cleanliness awareness rally. Principal of the school Satish Kumar and NSS in-charge Jaiveer Solanki, volunteers cleaned the school premises, Baba Mugipa temple and gaushala. The students were imparted awareness on key social issues such as environmental conservation, drug abuse, and the importance of cleanliness during the camp. The volunteers also participated in a rally across the village. Solanki stressed that such camps played a vital role in students' personal growth, character building and fostering a sense of patriotism.

Blood donation camp at Bamla school

Bhiwani: The seven-day NSS camp, being conducted at Government Senior Secondary School located at Bamla village concluded with a blood donation camp. Thirtyfour people donated blood. NSS District Coordinator Anand Sharma honoured the blood donors. On the occasion, NCC officer Sanjay donated blood for the 26th time. A team from the Civil Hospital reached the school to collect blood. On the occasion, NSS District Coordinator Anand Sharma said the blood donation camp had special importance for NSS volunteers, because it helped in their personality development, social responsibility and understanding human values.
