Campus notes: Teej celebrated at Rewari varsity

Rewari: Indira Gandhi University (IGU) organised a ‘Hariyali Teej Mahotsav 2024’ on campus with great fervour on Wednesday. Vice-Chancellor JP Yadav was the chief guest at the event, while Registrar Pramod Kumar was the guest of honour. Prof Pramod said, people must celebrate every festival with enthusiasm. Dean Academic Affairs Manju Paruthi explained the importance of celebrating Teej in detail to the students. She said this festival had special significance in the Indian culture and in many religions. Various competitions and activities were organised during the programme, including a mehndi application competition, flower pot decoration competition, kite flying and games. Facilities of swings, DJ, drums and food stalls were available for students. Ravindra and Rakesh played an important role in the successful organisation of the programme in collaboration with Sushant Yadav. Prof Karan Singh, Ravinder, Prof Rashmi Pundir, Prof Aditi Sharma, Prof Romika Batra, Ishwar Sharma, Mahavir Barak and Sunil Kumar were present on the occasion.

24 get certificates at Sirsa varsity

Sirsa: The Haryana Skill Development Mission (HSDM) has empanelled Chaudhary Devi Lal University as a training provider under the SURYA 2.0 Guidelines Scheme for the year 2023-24. The training programme was successfully completed, culminating in a certification distribution ceremony held at the University Centre for Outreach Programs & Extension (UCOPE) on Wednesday. During the ceremony, 24 certificates were distributed in the presence of several notable attendees, including UCOPE Director Mohd Kashif Kidwai, Sunil Kumar, Saroj Mehta, HSDM District Skill Coordinator Sheenam, training centre head, Kamal, among others. The state government introduced the scheme to enhance employability and entrepreneurial opportunities for young people. The domestic data entry operator and guest service executive (front office) programmes helped participants acquire formal qualifications that matched their knowledge and skills, providing opportunities for up-skilling and re-skilling.
