Campus Notes: Teej celebrated at Rohtak school

Rohtak: Teej festival was celebrated with joy, enthusiasm and excitement at Indus Public School. Many competitions, including a Hindi dictation competition for classes III to X were held. Apart from this, boys of classes III and IV decorated kites, while those of classes V and VI learnt how to make them. The boys of classes IX and X enjoyed kite-flying. Girls applied mehndi and danced and played on campus. On this occasion, the students came dressed in traditional attire. Chairperson Ekta Sindhu said, “We should celebrate our folk festivals with enthusiasm, while respecting our traditional festivals and culture, so that we can inculcate values in our future generations.” Director Principal Sushma Jha said festivals united the society and promoted the feelings of love and brotherhood among people.

Alumni show up at Kaithal college

Kaithal: A group of alumni from the 1990 batch visited RKSD College, Kaithal, on Monday. The group included Rajeev Singh, Director General, Indian Chamber of Commerce; Professor Jyoti from the Department of Computer Science, Guru Jhambeshwar University, Hisar; Bharat Makkar and Vikas Gupta from the Life Insurance Corporation of India; Sunita Sharma and Anita Jain from Delhi; and Suresh and Purushottam from Kaithal. They were welcomed to the college with bouquets by Chairman Ashwani Shorewala, past chairman Saket Mangal, Secretary Pankaj Bansal, Principal Sanjay Goel and Convener of the Alumni Committee Naresh Garg. They toured the campus, including the library, new cafeteria, Diamond Jubilee PG Block, Maharaja Agrasen Bhawan, sports stadium, among other buildings of the college. Principal Goel briefed them about the progress of the college, admission process, academic progress, cultural and sports achievements, etc. Dr Garg told them about the alumni membership process and presented them with the annual magazine of the college.
