Rewari: A two-day training on vedic mathematics started at CCSHAU College of Agriculture, Bawal, in collaboration with Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS) and VIBHA Haryana. On the occasion, Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) launched brochure in presence of Dr Rashmi Pundir, VIBHA Rewari coordinator and Dr Sharanjeet Dhawan, VVM district coordinator. Dr Jawaharlal, VIBHA president, congratulated the team on this occasion. Dr Gajendra Pratap Singh from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, was the keynote speaker during the programme. Major focus of this training programme is on ancient Indian mathematics and applications of computational vedic mathematics. Dr Singh discussed the biography of Swami Bharti Krishna Tirtha and the use of 16 vedic sutra in algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Emphasising on traditional knowledge system, he discussed Acharya Pingala's work (binary number system and Meru Prastara), along with Ramanujan's biography and notable works. Teachers from 25 different government schools of Rewari participated in programme. The goal of this training was to foster science-based innovative ideas and inspire students and teachers from the rural areas towards ancient knowledge system. Faculty members Dr Charan Singh Sekhon, Dr Abhishek, Dr Alisha and others were present during the programme. All the participants appreciated the lecture content.

Apply for PG courses till Aug 24

Rohtak: The last date for online admission in postgraduate courses in Jat College is August 24. Interested candidates can get admission on the basis of merit on the vacant seats in nine postgraduate courses. Principal Shabnam Rathi said students who wish to take admission in various postgraduate courses can apply by visiting the DGHE website: https://admissions.highereduhry.ac.in. “For admission to vacant seats in the PG courses, students can get their documents verified by the counselling committee and pay the fees till August 24.” All types of information related to all courses is available on the college website: https://jatcollegerohtak.ac.in.
