Rohtak: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Vice-Chancellor Rajbir Singh said education was a powerful tool for solving the problems of the society. He said the purpose of education was not merely to earn a degree, or a job, but to utilise it for societal development, community upliftment, nation-building and welfare of mankind. He advised students to utilise the time spent at the university for knowledge enhancement, capacity building and holistic personality development. The VC said this at the inaugural session of a three-day induction programme for the newly admitted students of postgraduate programmes. Dean of Academic Affairs AS Maan highlighted the significance of discipline, especially self-discipline for success. Students must work with a definite plan to achieve their academic goals. Registrar Gulshan Lal Taneja said success was dependent upon persistent efforts, career target specific approach and appropriate time management.
100% result in MSc Biotech Course
Yamunanagar: Final year students of MSc Biotechnology at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, achieved outstanding success as the entire batch secured a 100 per cent result in Kurukshetra University examinations. Abhishek Uppal and Purvi Sharma jointly secured the first position with a score of 84.6 per cent, followed by Seyjal in the second place with 84.4 per cent, Sonali in the third spot with 83.2 per cent, Raghav in the fourth position with 82.2 per cent and Arpitrama in the fifth place with 81.2 per cent. Additionally, Jahanvi bagged the eighth position with 77.4 per cent. Seyjal and Abhishek secured the highest marks in Animal Biotechnology. Out of the total student cohort, 11 students have achieved more than 70 per cent marks, while the rest secured first division marks. Principal Harinder Singh Kang expressed his elation on the achievement of the students.
College students shine in exams
Kaithal: Six students of BCom and BSc from RKSD College, Kaithal, bagged top positions in the recently declared results of Kurukshetra University, Kurushetra. Samiksha from BCom bagged the eighth position, while Divya, Neha, Varsha, Anu and Annu Devi from B Vocational secured the third, fourth, fifth, seventh and ninth positions, respectively. Principal Sanjay Goyal extended congratulations to the department of Commerce on the achievement and awarded cash prizes to the merit holders. He wished them well for their future endeavours.
