Hisar: A two-day workshop on research methodology was organised by the Department of Chemistry at Dayanand College, Hisar. The workshop focused on expanding the reactivity of flavin-dependent halogenase for halocyclization. Pratibha Gandhi, a researcher from Indiana University, USA, delivered a keynote lecture, emphasising the importance of basic knowledge and careful precautions in research. Principal of Dayanand Mahavidyalaya Dr Vikramjit Singh exhorted the students to explore new research topics while stressing the significance of foundational knowledge. Dr Sunita Lega, Head of the Chemistry Department, expressed gratitude to the speaker and discussed chemical research equipment. Faculty and students, including Dr Archana Malik and were also present.
Yoga workshop inaugurated
Hisar: A seven-day yoga workshop was inaugurated at Government College for Women, Hisar. It was organised by the Women Cell and Physical Education Department under the Surya Namaskar Abhiyan of Haryana Yoga Commission. The college principal emphasised yoga’s benefits for physical, mental and spiritual health. Yoga instructor Rena Kumari highlighted its importance in today’s stressful life, preventing fatigue and diseases. Various asanas, pranayama and meditation were taught to enhance flexibility, strength and energy. Students participated enthusiastically and the event was attended by the college staff, promoting overall wellbeing.
Seven-day NSS camp concludes
Ambala: The seven-day special NSS camp today concluded at Government Senior Secondary School, Sapehra, Ambala. The volunteers practiced yoga and an awareness session on mental health and peace awareness was held on behalf of Youth Peace Foundation and Raj Vidya Kendra Sansthan. A video recorded message of the founder of the organisation, Prem Rawat, was shown to the volunteers. Programme Officer Shridutt made all the volunteers take a pledge to become ambassadors of humanity and peace. He said we are living in a globalised world. Globalisation as a process and flow has promoted interdependence by connecting the world to each other. In the present era, war, dissatisfaction, depression, migration and environmental imbalance are the major challenges before the whole world. Therefore, it is imperative to establish peace and brotherhood in the world.
