Yamunanagar: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, in collaboration with the university’s Department of Biotechnology, Microbiologists Society of India (MBSI), and the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), organised an awareness rally on the theme “Unite, Act & Eliminate” to educate the public about leprosy on World Leprosy Day. Several enthusiastic students participated, holding display boards and chanting slogans to spread awareness about the disease. Principal Dr Pratima Sharma lauded the initiative, congratulating the Department of Biotechnology for their efforts in organising the rally. She emphasised the importance of such events in fostering community health awareness, and commended students for their active involvement. The rally commenced with a flag-off by faculty members Prof Santosh Kurra, IQAC Coordinator Dr Catherine Masih, NSS Programme Officer Dr Neelam Behl, IIC Activity Coordinator Dr Shaweta Sachdeva, MBSI Haryana Vice-President Dr Nidhi Mahendru, Pooja Rani, Pooja Rana, Jaspreet Singh, Etender, Yasmin and Raghav. As the procession moved through the locality, residents engaged with the participants, inquiring about leprosy and receiving informative responses.
Cranial Osteopathy Lecture held
Hisar: The Department of Physiotherapy, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Hisar, organised a lecture on cranial osteopathy with an aim to educate students, faculty and healthcare professionals about its principles and applications. Dr Amit Kumar, Director, Physio Health Plus, delivered the lecture, discussing the history, philosophy, clinical applications and latest research in the field. Participants praised Dr Kumar’s insights and found the session highly beneficial. The event was chaired by Dr Jaspreet Kaur, Head of the Department, with support from Dr Manoj Malik, Dr Rekha and Dr Vandana.
Business accounting workshop held
Yamunanagar: To bridge the gap between academia and industry, Mukand Lal National College conducted a 15-day workshop on business accounting, held from January 7 to 24. It was a collaborative effort with ICT Academy and Infosys, designed to equip final-year students of BCom (General), BCom (Tax Procedure and Practices), BCom (Computer Application) and BBA with cutting-edge skills for the modern business world. Corporate trainer Bhuvnesh Soni was the resource person of the workshop. Sixty shortlisted participants underwent the programme, which concluded in an objective-type assessments of the workshop. The workshop covered a comprehensive range of topics, from advanced accounting techniques to essential soft skills. Participants engaged in role-playing activities and real-world case studies under Soni’s guidance. The workshop was led by Dr Neeti Daryal, head, Self-Finance Department. Dr Rajeev Sharma was the coordinator of the workshop. Vandana Maggo was the mentor. Principal Dr Anil Dhawan said the workshop was a stepping stone for future leaders of the business world.
