In a major relief to farmers who have witnessed damage to their crops on over five acres, the state government has removed the ceiling of area for the registration of damage on the ‘Kshatipurti’ portal and now farmers are free to upload their claims.
“Considering the representations received from different quarters and after reviewing the issue, the government has lifted the cap of five acres on the registration of damaged area from the portal,” a spokesperson said.
The Tribune had highlighted the issue in its March 6 edition under the heading “Farmers in limbo, limitation of crop loss portal hinders claims.” The Opposition also took a dig on the issue and Congress leader Kumari Selja and Assandh MLA Shamsher Singh Gogi took to social media platform to criticise the government.
