According to a complaint lodged with the police, the victim, identified as Shivansh, a resident of Nangla village, died after falling from the moving vehicle on January 27 while he was coming back to his house.

It is reported that the boy fell from an open window.

Instead of taking the injured child to the hospital, the driver of the van dropped him at his house and fled, it is claimed.

He allegedly did not stop despite requests made by the victim’s mother. The boy, who was taken to a hospital, later succumbed to his injuries.

Rekha, the mother of the deceased who has accused the driver of the van and the school management of negligence, said her son could have survived had he been taken to a hospital by the driver.

A police official said a probe had been launched into the matter after the registration of a case against driver Hari Singh and the school management.
