The police have registered a case in connection with an extortion incident, in which a youth was allegedly asked for a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The suspect had identified himself as a known gangster.
According to the complaint, Yogesh Kumar of Chandhut village in the district, received an extortion call on July 26. The caller identified himself as gangster Neeraj Faridpuria and asked Yogesh to give him Rs 1 crore by July 29. The caller allegedly threatened to kill the victim and his family if he did not pay the amount. Following this, Yogesh approached the police to lodge a complaint.
Neeraj Faridpuria, who hails from Faridabad district, is wanted in at least 25 cases on various charges, including murder, attempt to murder and extortion. Twelve cases each have been registered in Faridabad and Palwal districts, while one case each has been registered in Gurugram and Karnal districts. — TNS
