CBI DIG Ashwin Shenvi gets medal for meritorious service
IPS officer Ashwin Shenvi, posted as the CBI DIG in Chandigarh, has been chosen for the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM). The medal is awarded for valuable service characterised by resource and devotion to duty.
Shenvi is a 2006-batch Haryana cadre IPS officer. Presently, he is on deputation with the Government of India in CBI. The Calcutta High Court chose him to head the SIT probing alleged teachers’ recruitment scam in West Bengal in 2022.
He has been supervising corruption-related cases at the Chandigarh branch of the central agency. Recently, his team also cracked down on an extortion nexus involving an ED official and a CBI DSP in a scholarship scam. The accused were demanding around Rs 2.5 crore from businessmen. He had also supervised multiple cases related to the Roshni land scam in Jammu and Kashmir.
