CCTV cams to keep tabs on violators at 70 closed garbage points
The 70 garbage points closed by the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, (MCYJ) recently are now under the surveillance of hidden CCTV cameras. After closing these garbage points, the MCYJ has placed flower pots here for a healthy environment and installed CCTV cameras near these points.
“The person who will throw garbage at these points will be caught on camera. If anyone is found throwing garbage at these points now, he will be fined Rs 5,000 by the MCYJ,” said Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha.
Along with installing the cameras, the authorities of the MCYJ have also put up banners appealing people not to throw garbage at these points. He said that by closing these points, the MCYJ had placed flower pots and benches at all those places and planted saplings at some other places. He further said that after cleaning garbage from these points, the MCYJ had also sprayed lime there.
“At these places, where people could not even stand, now they are seen sitting on benches at these places,” said Sinha.
He said that after they got information that pots were damaged at some places and garbage was being thrown, they had to install hidden cameras at those places. He further said that sanitation inspectors were also keeping an eye on these closed garbage points.
“Now, if anyone throws garbage at these places and damages the pots, action will be taken against him. The MCYJ will issue challan of up to Rs 5,000 to such people. Apart from this, action will be taken as per rules,” said Sinha.
As per available information, in zone-I of the MCYJ, a team headed by Chief Sanitary Inspector Harjeet Singh closed the garbage points located at various places in 11 wards. Similarly, the other team led by Chief Sanitary Inspector Sunil Dutt closed several garbage points in ward No. 12 to 22.
