Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, has initiated preparations for the academic session 2025–26 with several significant reforms aimed at strengthening academic offerings and making higher education more inclusive. At a key meeting held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof Narsiram Bishnoi, the university approved the launch of new integrated science courses, an increase in seat intake for select programmes, and introduction of reserved seats for Kashmiri students.

During the meeting, it was decided that the number of seats in the BSc data science programme will be increased from 30 to 50, and the BA economics programme will see a rise in seats from 30 to 40. Speaking at the meeting, Prof Bishnoi highlighted that the students were the identity of any educational institution, and the CDLU was committed to providing quality education and employment-oriented programmes. He emphasised the importance of aligning university courses with industry needs to enhance career opportunities for the students. Drawing parallels with Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Prof Bishnoi noted that timely and student-centric decisions could significantly boost the institution’s appeal. He assured that the CDLU would adopt a transparent and student-friendly admission process to ensure ease and accessibility for all applicants.

To facilitate a smooth admission process, the CDLU will soon publish the handbook of information for the 2025–26 session on its official website. A dedicated committee has been formed for this task, chaired by Dean of Academic Affairs Prof Suresh Gehlawat. Other key members of the committee include Controller of Examinations Prof Rajkumar Salar, Dean of Colleges Prof Aashim Miglani, Dean Student Welfare Prof Rajkumar, Proctor Prof Umed Singh, along with other university officials.
