The university’s proctor board is conducting a separate investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the student’s classroom has been shifted from the second floor to the ground floor, and counselling is being provided to him.
The incident took place on February 14, when a differently-abled law student allegedly attempted suicide twice due to mental distress caused by a female teacher’s remarks.
He reportedly planned to slit his wrist on the university campus. Later, he tried to jump off a third-floor window. He was reportedly stopped both times by students.
The police were informed about the incident, and had reached the university. According to sources, the student had been troubled by a teacher’s comments.
He had previously filed a complaint with the university administration, leading to an internal inquiry.
Following this, the teacher was barred from conducting classes, but the student remained dissatisfied, demanding stricter action.
He had warned that if no appropriate action was taken, he might resort to extreme measures. After the February 14 incident, the university administration formed a three-member committee, comprising Priyanka Siwach, Rajesh Tuteja and Ram Mehar Dixit, to investigate the case.
The committee conducted two meetings on Monday and Tuesday, recording statements from all involved parties. Additionally, the proctor board participated in the meetings, and has prepared its own report.
The student is currently receiving counselling, and his classroom location has been changed to provide a more comfortable environment.
The proctor board also invited his parents for a discussion, but they did not attend the meeting.
Meanwhile, according to sources, the accused teacher has also filed complaints against certain students, alleging various forms of misconduct. Rajesh Tuteja and Ram Mehar Dixit confirmed that all individuals concerned have been heard, and a detailed report would be submitted by Friday to the university administration for further action.
