Reacting to the ED action, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh on Sunday said the Congress had been in power for several years and the cases against Congress politicians or anyone else were registered many years ago.
“The ED does it work slowly. It is doing its job, and the BJP has nothing to do with it. The ED is taking action against only those who have done wrong,” said Rao while interacting with the media on the sidelines of a function in Bahadurgarh area on Sunday.
On being asked that the Opposition leaders are blaming the BJP for the ED raids, Rao said: “I don’t know why they are saying this. Getting sympathy may be their motive as the Assembly elections are near. They have been in the Opposition for the past 10 years, so they will definitely try to bring their party into power.”
In reply to another question, the Union Minister said the party would take a final call, but his recommendation was that the ticket should be given to new faces in the upcoming Assembly poll. The BJP always remained ready to contest the election, he added.
In Gurugram, Rao Inderjit dismissed the Congress campaign as publicity gimmick. He said rather than seeking ‘hisaab’ Congress should be giving one for the rampant corruption which continues to ripple many developmental issues in the state till date.
“The scams and corruption conducted by them a decade ago haunts the state, region and city even today. They should rather than seeking ‘hisaab’ be giving one as corruption by their leaders is talk of the town.,” said Rao Inderjit.
Earlier, Deepender said the BJP government owed maximum accountability to the millennium city, which was turned into ‘Kuda City’by the BJP.
