Central varsity to host events to celebrate National Science Day
Central University of Haryana (CUH) here will celebrate National Science Day on February 27-28 by hosting multiple programmes on the theme "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat".
The event will kick off with inauguration by Prof Kehar Singh, former Dean of IIT Delhi, and Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, CUH. On February 27, a science exhibition will showcase innovations, research and projects from CUH departments, schools and colleges, featuring poster-making, working models and quiz competitions.
On February 28, Prof Amitava Sen Gupta, former CSIR-NPL scientist, will deliver a special expert lecture. The event will also include a science show by the National Science Centre, New Delhi. Online registration is open until February 21 via the CUH website.
Prof AK Yadav and Prof Vinod Kumar, members of the organising committee, said that the event series would begin with the science exhibition where CUH departments and local educational institutions would showcase their notable contributions.
In addition, the National Science Centre, New Delhi, will conduct a science show during the event. “Preparations for the event are in their final stages with CUH departments and associated faculty and researchers working diligently to ensure the event's success,” said Yadav.
