Centre must accept demands: Hooda

n Former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said the Centre must accept the demands of farmers in the next round of talks on Friday

n Farmers have been protesting for the past two months against the recently enacted farm laws

n “The Centre is pretending to be unaware of the demands of farmers, but the country knows that they are demanding withdrawal of the laws,” Hooda said

n The Leader of the Opposition was in Rohtak on Thursday; he said the farmers were also demanding a law on the MSP

n The former CM visited the families of deceased farmer Jayabhagwan of Pakasma village to offer condolences

n He demanded grant of martyr status to the farmers who lost their lives during the stir, financial aid to their families and jobs for their dependents

n “Around 150 farmers have lost their lives. Rather than accepting the demands of the farmers, the Centre is using tricks to end the movement,” he said

n Hooda promised that the Congress would provide relief to bereaved families on coming to power. tns
