Charkhi Dadri, Karnal farmers top in registering crop on MFMB portal

Farmers of Charkhi Dadri and Karnal districts have emerged as the frontrunners in the state in registering their crops on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” (MFMB) portal. The farmers from these regions have registered an impressive 76.82 per cent and 74.58 per cent crops, surpassing the state average of 58.74 per cent, which shows they’ve taken to the online mode in a big way.

As per officials, the portal helps the farmers in getting the benefits under various schemes, including the procurement of their produce by the government, transfer of incentives under the “Mera Pani, Meri Virasat” scheme, Direct Seeded Rice scheme, crop residue management, natural farming, Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, and others.

The state has 89,85,420 acres of cultivable land, of which 8,73,349 farmers had registered 52,78,479 acres till February 15, the last date. As many as 43,664 farmers of Charkhi Dadri have registered 2,09,786 acres out of the total 2,73,081 acres, as per the data of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department. As many as 51,634 farmers of Karnal district have registered 3,84,673 acres out of the total 5,15,801 acres. With 72.44 per cent registration, Kurukshetra district is third and is closely followed by Mahindergarh at 70.94 per cent, Bhiwani at 68.97 per cent, Sirsa at 68.90 per cent, Rewari at 64.25 per cent, Panipat at 62.19, Yamunanagar at 62.01 per cent, Kaithal at 62 per cent, Fatehabad at 61.37 per cent and Ambala at 61.19 per cent, according to the data.

“A mass awareness campaign has been conducted to make farmers aware of the registration of crop on the MFMB portal and they would avail benefits of all schemes after the registration,” said Dr Wazir Singh, Deputy Director, Agriculture, Karnal. He said the registration of crops on the portal plays a vital role in the the implementation of various agricultural schemes.
