Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) has undergone an administrative reshuffle under the leadership of Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, who recently assumed the role of vice-chancellor. The reshuffle, announced on Monday, aims to streamline operations and improve overall functioning.
This reshuffle follows a properiod of uncertainty regarding the vice-chancellor’s position, which had been vacant since November 2024 after the resignation of Prof Ajmer Singh Malik. During this time, the additional charge of vice-chancellor was held by Vinit Garg, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department.
On January 25, Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi took charge as vice-chancellor. He described the administrative changes as essential to ensuring smooth management and improved efficiency, especially as several professors had been managing additional roles.
Prof Bishnoi, who also serves as vice-chancellor of Guru Jambheshwar University (GJU) in Hisar, outlined plans to introduce short-term courses at CDLU aimed at boosting employability for students. GJU already offers over 30 online certificate courses accessible to students across the state. Prof Bishnoi intends to replicate this model at CDLU to help students transition seamlessly into the workforce.
