Cheating-free exams: Sonepat DC takes charge, police arrest seven

In a bid to ensure cheating-free Haryana School Education Board (HSEB) examinations, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Manoj Kumar Yadav led an extensive inspection of examination centres across the district on Monday.

Meanwhile, seven individuals were arrested for allegedly attempting to interfere in the Class 10 English exam at Baroda village, Gohana. The district police have booked them under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated a probe.

Accompanied by District Education Officer (DEO) Navin Gulia, the DC visited six examination centres, assessing security measures and ensuring the integrity of the examination process. Additionally, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) of Gohana, Kharkhoda and Gannaur also conducted visits to review arrangements.

A total of 76 board exam centres have been established across the district, with 18 identified as sensitive and seven classified as hyper-sensitive. To maintain order, additional police personnel have been deployed at all centres.

The DC first visited Murthal village, followed by an examination centre in Kundli, where he directed the relocation of certain rooms to another building for better monitoring.

Kharkhoda Government Senior Secondary Schools (both boys' and girls' schools), deemed hyper-sensitive, were inspected and security adjustments were recommended.

At Farmana and Bhatgaon villages, boys loitering near fields close to examination centres were spotted. The DC instructed officials to conduct videography of such individuals and lodge FIRs against those disrupting the exams.

"Although the Class 10 examination was conducted peacefully at most centres, reports of outsider interference at Baroda Government School were received," said DC Manoj Kumar.

Upon receiving complaints of external disruptions, DCP Gohana Ravinder Tomar and a police team rushed to the spot and apprehended seven individuals. "Immediate action was taken, and a case has been registered against them," the DC confirmed.
