About a week after the Punjab and Haryana High Court issued directions to the Town and Country Department to take requisite action against unauthorised colonies in Hisar, the department today warned people about an illegal colony being developed on the land adjoining a farm on the Hansi-Delhi Road in Hansi.

District Town Planner Dinesh Kumar said the matter came to their notice that a layout plan inventory plan is being prepared in the name of Gokul Dham, Part-2, Sector-18 Hansi, covering about 28 acres in the revenue estate of Hansi. The land was being developed into residential colonies and plots were being sold under the name of Bhaichara Property.

He clarified that in the Sector-18 Hansi revenue estate, only one licence application had been made in the name of VS Infra for a colony on Radhika Mill Road. However, in the distributed inventory plan, an additional colony titled 'New Industrial Plot and Residential Colony' (Old NH-9) has been shown on the same 28 acres adjacent to the farm. “For this land, no licence has been obtained from the Director, Town and Country Planning Department, Haryana, Chandigarh, under Section 3 of the Urban Areas Act, 1975”, he said in a written statement today.

The department has warned that such activities amount to development of an unauthorised colony and strict action is being taken against illegal colonies. "We have been warning common people not to fall into any trap and not to buy or construct on plots in such colonies, even if approached by property dealers,” he said.

“The public has been advised to verify the authorised status of colonies before purchasing plots to avoid future inconvenience. Detailed information about licensed colonies and policies is available on the department’s website www.tcpharyana.gov.in or at the office of the District Town Planner, Hisar,” the warning stated.

Meanwhile, the District Town Planner also carried out action against two unauthorised colonies in Barwala subdivision of the district, where illegally constructed roads, sewers, electric poles, and other construction works were demolished. The department’s team, accompanied by police personnel and JCB machines, razed the colonies spread over 2 acres on Hansi Road and nearly 7 acres on Hisar Road. Officials stated that action had earlier also been taken against both the colonies.
