CIA team arrests five members of gang in Yamunanagar district

A team of CIA-I of the police has arrested five members, including a minor boy of a gang, who were allegedly planning to commit a robbery on the Panchkula-Yamunanagar national highway in Yamunanagar district. The team also seized five illegal pistols and several live cartridges from their possession.

Kewal Singh, in-charge, CIA-I, said they got information that some miscreants were sitting in an abandoned room in agriculture fields near Goglon village and planning to commit a robbery with someone on the Panchkula-Yamunanagar national highway.

Kewal said after getting information, he formed a team comprising Sub-Inspector Raman, ASI Santosh, Rajinder Singh, Randhir Singh, Vimal, Jagtar, Mukesh and Sushil.

He further said the team raided the said place and arrested four persons and apprehended one minor boy from the spot. He said the miscreants were identified as Baljit, alias Punjabi, of Ludhiana, Vikesh Saini of Sardehri village in Ambala district, Gautam, alias Mattu, of Sadhaura town in Yamunanagar district, Guruaman of Milk village in Ambala district and a minor boy of the Bilaspur area in Yamunanagar district.

“The miscreants were planning to loot a car on the highway. After looting the car, they were to commit robbery at some other place,” said Kewal.

He said a case of shooting was already registered against Baljit in Punjab. Kewal said an illegal pistol and five live cartridges were recovered from his possession. He further said two criminal cases were registered against Vikesh Saini and an illegal pistol and five live cartridges were recovered from him.

Two criminal cases were also registered against the minor boy and an illegal country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from his possession, he added. He said iron pipes were recovered from the possession of Gautam and Guruaman.

He further said they were members of MM gang/group, which was run by Manjot, alias Munna, of Kharwan village. He said the accused would be produced in a court to bring them on remand.
