CIA team arrests man with illegal countrymade pistol
A team of the CIA-II of the Yamunanagar district police has arrested a man and recovered a countrymade pistol (desi katta) from his possession.
Chamkaur Singh, a police spokesman said on the directions of Superintendent of Police Rajiv Deswal, the district police was taking action against persons owning illegal weapons.
Raj Kumar, incharge of the CIA-II, said they got information that a man was roaming on Dadupur-Chhachhrauli road with an illegal country-made pistol.
He said he immediately formed a team and the team arrested the man identified as Harjinder Singh, aka Jinder of Tihano village of the district.
He further said the team looked for him and during the search, it recovered a countrymade pistol from his possession.
He said a case was registered against the accused under Sections of the Arms Act.
He added that the accused was produced before a court in Jagadhri, where he was sent to judicial custody.
