She added that Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh had been given the responsibility for wards 1 to 7, CSI Vinod Beniwal for wards 8 to 15 and CSI Anil Nain for wards 16 to 22.

They mayor said the work of catching stray cattle was being done by the MCYJ in all three zones. “We appeal cattle keepers not to abandon animals in the open after they are of no use. One should leave animals only in gaushalas because stray animals pose a risk of accidents. Some stray cattle become ferocious and can attack people,” the Mayor said.

She said the MC was catching stray cattle from urban areas. “All the cattle are being tagged and handed over to gaushalas. The drive will continue till every stray cattle is caught from the Municipal Corporation area. Soon, all the cattle roaming in twin cities will be caught,” the mayor added.
