After catching the cattle, they were sent to gaushala in Jagadhri by the MCYJ. Before sending them to gaushala, cattle were tagged, so that they could not be released from gaushala illegally. The MCYJ has so far caught 149 cattle this year and sent them to gaushalas after tagging.

According to information, a team led by Chief Sanitary Inspector (CSI) Harjeet Singh reached Sector 18 to catch stray cattle. The team caught five stray cattle roaming in various areas of this sector.

As per available information, the MCYJ has formed separate teams under the leadership of CSI Harjeet Singh in zone 1, CSI Vinod Beniwal in zone II and CSI Anil Nain in zone III to catch stray cattle. Harjeet Singh said people should not leave their cows in the open. “If anyone leaves cows in the open, a fine of Rs 5,100 will be imposed on him/her,” said CSI Harjeet Singh. He said if a tagged cattle was found in the open again, a fine would also be imposed on the operator of the gaushala concerned. “The civic body pays expenses of fodder to gaushalas per cattle. These cattle are caught by the MCYJ and left in gaushalas,” said CSI Harjeet Singh.
