The Health Department has launched a 100-day campaign to eliminate TB in the district. On Saturday, Civil Surgeon Dr Mahendra Singh Bhadu flagged off a mobile medical unit from the Civil Hospital. Former Haryana Health Services Director General Dr Surajbhan Kamboj and TB Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Prateek were also present.
Under this programme, mobile medical teams will visit villages and TB hotspots to test suspected patients. Blood and sputum samples will be collected on site to identify TB cases. Patients with symptoms will receive free medicines and Rs 1,000 per month under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana for nutritious food. The initiative aims to eradicate TB by 2025.
